Best friends

If I knew what you were thinking,
I'd know just how to react,
If you knew what I was thinking,
Then perhaps our friendship wouldn't be intact!
But if you knew the things I've seen,
And seen the lengths to which I've been,
Then you'd know that this friendship is my world.
The only lecture I would ever be told,
Was that of love and compassion,
The shelter from life's cold!
