Interview

Why do you like writing?
Adam Rogers: Writing allows me to get my creative juices going. I can get lost in a world that I create myself. This is also the same with making games.

When did you start writing and why?
Adam Rogers: I think I discovered that I enjoyed writing in 3rd grade. We had to write a 1-2 page story and mine was by far the longest at 11 pages. The only reason it wasn't longer is because I ran out of time and had to rush the ending. I'm sure it would have been at least 25 pages. Haha. Oh, it was called The Giant Rat.

How long have you been writing?
Adam Rogers: As I said before, I started writing in about 3rd grade. That was about 21 years ago. I haven't written anything for quite some time until now though.

What is the best book you have ever read?
Adam Rogers: I love dragonlance books. I love going on adventures on other worlds with mythical and mystical creatures. I also enjoy writing about them and playing and making RPG games for the same reasons.

Who is your favorite author?
Adam Rogers: Going back to Dragonlance, I love Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

What is the best story you have ever written?
Adam Rogers: I can't say what the best story I've written is. I had many started I didn't finish, and I'm just too darn critical of myself. I'll read a chapter I wrote today and think "That's not bad at all!" Then tomorrow I'll think, "Wow, that's rubbish."

What is some advice you would give new writers?
Adam Rogers: Never give up. If you enjoy writing, do it for the love of it. Don't let anyone get you down. There is always room to improve. Also, don't be overly critical. You need to be a little critical to become a better writer, but you don't want to make yourself quit because you put yourself down too much.
