Why do you like writing?
Jan Andersen: It is an emotional release, it informs other people, my words can be a source of comfort to others, they can be thought-provoking or can make people rock with laughter. My main aim is for people to derive pleasure from my work.
When did you start writing and why?
Jan Andersen: I found it was the best way of expressing myself and I also discovered that I had the ability to make people laugh.

Jan Andersen: All my life as a hobby, but as a serious freelance writer for the past six months

Jan Andersen: Ooh, that's a difficult one, but one of the best has to be, "Bridget Jones Diary" and anything by Bill Bryson

Jan Andersen: Anything that has achieved an enormous response from its readers
What is some advice you would give new writers?
Jan Andersen: Have belief in your talent, don't listen to pessimists and never, ever give up!!!
