Trailer Shades After Midnight
The eye of the screen blinks
its ray, shimmers and winks,
The shadows seep and creep,
Leaping, seemingly weeping
upon the floor--
The pests are crawling,
they're sprawling on shadowed shrinks
Splayed, they're laying their eggs
on the lighted floor--
The door is alight
With fire, burning and linking
myself and its dark bright
Upon the floor--
Shadowy creatures of night
caressing and creeping, reeking
Of flesh--
Perish should I if light
burns the carpet, and I thinking,
as the screen stares winking,
This world will die--
