I dream before I go to sleep
And hope my dreams will follow me--
If I go to sleep before I dream,
The sleep runs out ahead of them--
How empty is the night without
Some dreams to have to think about--
So I place my dreams beneath my eyes
Where sleep won't take me by surprise--
