Song Of Iraq

Song Of Iraq

Oh, sacred lands of a desert’s gleam
How we hear your cry to be free

Oh, children of Hussein’s regime
You are not the only suffering

You are not alone in this bloody war
When darkness falls over your stars

Blood saturates your sandy grounds
Tears reigns your desolate towns

Our troops are prisoners of this war
Lost in the darkness of your world

We can’t help our leaders intent
We too have a corrupt government

But we must stand together as one
Because we are under the same sun

Blood saturates your sandy grounds
Tears reigns your desolate towns

(CHORUS)
How many must die
For democracy?
Oh, the price to be free
Makes no sense to me!
How many parents must cry
For the loss of their child?
Tell me Government
How many more will be sent
To die in a land
Who doesn’t want
Our helping hand?

Oh, sacred lands of a desert’s gleam
We hear your cry to be free

Oh, children of Hussein’s regime
You are not the only suffering!

Blood saturates your sandy grounds
Tears reigns your desolate towns

Our troops are prisoners of this war
Lost in the darkness of your world

Oh, sacred lands of a desert’s gleam
How we hear your cry to be free

Oh, children of Hussein’s regime
You not the only suffering
