Guardian Angel

Death and all that of the sorts

Are they from a demon conjuring thoughts

Death and all that of the sorts

Are they from a demon conjuring thoughts?

Is it really selfish of me to want to end it all

When I'm always feeling lonely like there's no one there to call

And I have no one there to hold?

I'm in the dark and cold.

And I wish that I was bold,

Instead I'm just about to fold.

Because I'm losing and bruising with almost everything I'm told.

I don't want to take what people say,

The wrong way.

I wish that I could see in me

What the caring say they see.

And I wish I could be strong

Because I feel I don't belong.

I feel this life is wrong,

So I listen to a sad song;

Like: calling all angels, crying in the rain,

And everybody hurts and harness pain.

Headlines in my mind read: a suicidal clown,

Ends his life in his home town.

Now some people will frown

On this lost soul who felt down.

And like Humpty Dumpty who broke his crown;

He couldn't be fixed by all the king's men

And so he couldn't be saved by any of them.

This lost soul was a man on the edge

He was tired and he had no leverage

So he took a deep breath and stepped off the ledge of a high bridge.

He ended the pain and all the strife

But it ended his dream a desired life;

He wanted a family with a beautiful loving wife.

He'd gone to church for the last time and prayed for mercy for all his sins.

And there was no guardian angel named Clarence looking to earn his wings.

No guardian angel and no sign of a saviour like those sung to in hymns.

Instead he realised when he woke up that if he spoke up to his next of kin's;

To all those who'd been kind to him and also very nice,

Maybe they could help and give some friendly advice.

I guess this higher power,

Whether you call him God or Allah

Really does work in mysterious ways

Now I don't know what to believe in these days

But I like to think when feeling down and in need of a raise,

A guardian angel comes and stays,

A guardian angel full of love and praise.

A guardian angel to show the light

A guardian angel to show what's right

A guardian angel to make it all all right, a guardian angel.

Is it really selfish of me to want to end it all

When I’m always feeling lonely like there’s no one there to call

And I have no one there to hold?

I

’I'm in the dark and cold.

And I wish that I was bold,

Instead I’m just about to fold.

Because I’m losing and bruising with almost everything I’m told.
