Perfect Feathers

Perfect Feathers

As I sat beneath the willow tree
A perfect feather drifted down to me
Inspecting the delicate thing in my hand
A wondrous mystery I began to understand
A bird does not fly with a single feather
It takes many more working together
Pondering this miracle of nature's flight
I knew I must look with more than just sight.
From deep in my heart a chorus sang
Speaking of love for my fellow man
An Angel's wings are made of feathers like these
From the love and caring that is shown in their deeds
Each person here is given the opportunity to learn
So they will have perfect feathers they earn
Some build beautiful wings of silver or gold
Some take very long and grow very old
When your feathers are ready and wings you have formed
Love lifts you to heaven to be more radiantly adorned.
