drunk and confused

Here I am once again,
Drunk and confused,
I thought it would help, but all it did was make it worse.
I drank once, I drank twice,
Again and again,
until I was down to the bottom of the bottle.
I drank to forget, but somehow I still remember.
Everything I once gained I now lost.
Here I am once again,
at the edge of this cliff,
only this time not a theoretical cliff,
it was all real.
The empty bottle slips from my sweaty palms,
I whip the tears from my glazed eyes,
then I let myself slip.
I will never be drunk and confused again,
I will now be another statistic of a girl who drunk herself to death
