The Boat
My brother and I built a boat. When it was finished we took it to the river near our house in Missouri. He wanted to test it so we put it in the water and he got in. It sunk and he almost drown in the river. A man had to pull him out of the river. He recovered and we never mentioned it to our mother when we went home that night. We were suppose to be home by dark for supper. We ran wild most of the time. Our mother worked and we took care of ourselves most of the time. My brother was a good sport about the near drowning and we all recovered from it quickly and got on with our lives.
