Posted - 03/21/2007 : 14:42:12 In 1963, there was acres and acres of farm land in avra valley northwest of Tucson, Arizona. The farmers would plant the crops with the best returns for their investments. During this time frame they had planted Milo Maze in their fields, for cattle feed.
The white wing dove population was enormous in numbers. My father, from southern missouri was borned with a shotgun at his side for hunting. He and his brothers supplied the wild game for their family during the depression time of the thirties.
On this particular day he went dove hunting out in avra valley, alone. While he was huting a man approached him and they started having a down to earth conversation on hunting game in Arizona.
After an hour of talking to the hunter, my dad said,"he had better be heading home?" The hunter invited him to go hunting with him in the afternoon. My dad told the tall dark stranger," I know you from somewhere, I never forget a face". The other hunter told my dad,"maybe you have seen me in the movies?" continue |
