People in rural America become excited about fishing, football, baseball and deer hunting! In any order is ok. This is a true story for all to enjoy.

It was October many years ago. The leaves were in their routine array of gold, red and yellow on the trees and ground. October meant deer season in the Ozarks of America.

Frankie, Eugene and Jerry had been successful in their hunt. They had all harvested their deer up by Three Springs. They had been up all night cleaning the deer. Thanksgiving dinner would have turkey and deer deer!

My Uncle Charlie had been in the same area, but he hadn't the luck the other hunters enjoyed. One of the three came up with a super idea or prank to play. They took the deer hide and head over to my uncles house and prompted it up on a sawing horse.

The next door neighbor was asked to go over and tell my uncle, she had seen someone out back of thier house. Since his shotgun was handy, from the previous day, he took it and some "slugs" out the back door. It had broken daylight about a fifteen minutes earlier,on a cloudy day.

When he went out back, he couldnt believe his eyes. A nice three point buck was standing in his garden. Deer were known to move in around houses for protection during deer season, in Missouri. All he could see was the head and antlers.

My uncle shot the deer with his shotgun. He was all excited, went and found his new Wal-Mart hunting knife to field dress the nice buck. He called the neighbor, and told her he had fired off his shotgun in case there was an intruder in the vacinity.

The 3 "prank players" were laughing so hard they were crying. They couldn't laugh out loud, uncle charles was very mad because he had been a victim of a prankster. They were afraid he would shoot them. He has taken the heat for over 20 years! the story keeps getting bigger as time goes on. Once an Ozark American, always a one?

My uncle Charles is a special person. He has lived a God fearing life. He is the survivor of 4 sons born to the P family. He has always been a role model to all. He has helped a lot of people over the years. Thanks for all youve done!! They dont't makem like him anymore. Most of all,he is a good sport.
