Posted - 04/26/2007 : 03:59:07 My wife and I bought our first home in 1974. We had a tragedy involving our 4 year old son Jason. We felt moving to the opposite side of Tucson would help ease the pain?
All of the people moving into this neighborhood were mainly young couples, with one new born and one in the basket? We all would get together for neighborhood functions. It was a very popular during the seventies, to tell Polish jokes when the alcohol was running low. Yours truly, aka "mean little boy" violated this rule many of times.
One morning about 9 a.m. the lady next door ran our doorbell. I peeked out the peek hole to see who it was at the door. When I opened the door, pam was wearing blue jeans AND A shirt, with I am proud to be Polish American across the front and back,in big white letters. I knew right away I was in trouble!!!
She said,"Larry, Lynn and I would appreciate you not telling anymore jokes at our get togethers!" I told her I was sorry, and promise never to do it again.
About a hour later, the mailmail left out front. I went out to pick up the mail. Pam was sitting in her carport looking very sad. I asked her," if there was a problem?" she said,"Larry when I came over to your house I accidently locked my self out." I had to hold back the tears.
We finally found a window unlocked and I booted her through the window. The last thing I saw when she went in head first was the letter I am proud to be!! I just shook my head to myself and went home. THE END
Just another Good old day! Tucson, Arizona 1975 "mean little boy" |
